The End of an Experiment

So the Vegan Voyage Experiment has officially come to an end as of April 30.  I did it.  I lived as a Vegan for 30 days.  I went from being an omnivore to a vegan.  I am not going to lie and say it was easy.  The first few weeks were the hardest.  However, I am happy with the results of this experiment and I can tell you that I do not crave meat, dairy or eggs.

So, the main thing I have learned is that it stirs up a lot of people's opinions, both positive and negative.  I think that this is good as it gets people talking, about their own diet or lifestyle.  Not saying that everyone needs to go vegan, but gets people thinking about their own general health.

Okay so heading back to the whole reasons for doing this:
1) I am hoping to shed some fat.  Almost like a detox.  I lost about 3lbs and about 1/2" off my waist.  Also, I feel cleaner.
2) I want to see if living a vegan lifestyle is affordable.  It is very affordable.  I did not spend anymore then I normally would grocery shopping.  I also believe I have saved money, since it deterred me from eating out.
3) By trying this, it will change my diet or food options giving me the opportunity to research new recipes and ideas.  I got to try some really amazing restaurants, and learn about different alternatives.  Also, found a new love for avocados!
4) To challenge myself and try something new Who doesn't like a good challenge?
5) To see if it will have a positive impact on my soul. To be honest, I feel really good, both physically and mentally.

The conclusion:  Going Vegan was right for me!  I am really enjoying this, and I will continue living this lifestyle.  I will continue to post in this blog about my Vegan experiences.
I hope you all enjoyed reading this as much as I loved doing it!

By the way, just look at this sandwich I made for my lunch tomorrow!  YUM!!
